White Peony King
"Floral and bright with a soft and silky mouthfeel. There is a beautiful hint of spicebox on the back end." - Edward S.

White Peony King
Sweet chrysanthemum, spring meadow breeze and a delicate, savory sweetness in every sip
About This Tea
The Grand Cru of white peony tea, White Peony King is made from the spring season’s first growth. One leaf and one bud are hand-plucked from an exclusive tea bush cultivar selected for the top class of Fuding white tea. This cultivar, known as Fuding Da Hao (or “Big White”), must be harvested during brief periods of sunshine amidst the foggy coastal spring air to achieve its exceptional flavor.
The famous white tea-producing region of Fuding is situated on mist-enshrouded mountainsides overlooking an estuary that flows to the sea. The white teas grown here possess a savory quality attributed to the maritime airflow and the oceanic minerals found in the basalt-rich soil of Fuding’s gardens. The tender leaf-and-bud plucks exude a fresh and vigorous energy.
White Peony King is covered with silvery-white trichomes, showcasing the classic appearance of a famously downy white tea. This 2025 vintage yields an elegant golden infusion with a rich taste and silky, smooth body. It also features a sweet chrysanthemum note unique to this region’s early spring white tea.
