"Aroma and taste are exceptional. So fresh!" - Ellen L

Experience Greece at Home with Greek Mountain Tea

Greek Mountain Tea is actually a flowering perennial that grows on the rocky slopes around the Aegean Sea. Since this botanical is uplifting and energizing in tea, we thought it would go well with the warming elements of ginger and the mind-clearing effects of chamomile. This sweet and savory mixture culminates with the cleansing, refreshing taste of oregano in your tea bag.

FAQs

Do you offer Greek Mountain Tea in loose leaf form?

Yes, if you prefer loose leaf Greek Mountain Tea instead of tea bags, find it in our loose leaf collection.

How is loose leaf Greek Mountain Tea different from the sachet form?

Typically, tea in a bag doesn’t expand as much as loose leaf tea, so the heated water can’t flow through every leaf and provide the most flavor possible. However, due to the pyramid shape of our tea sachets, the leaves have room to expand, and water can flow freely. The main difference between loose leaf and sachets is that our sachets offer you a little more convenience with a premeasured amount of tea for your cup.

Does Greek Mountain Tea have caffeine?

No, this product doesn’t have any amount of caffeine.

What is the best way to enjoy Greek Mountain Tea?

We recommend brewing up this ginger, chamomile and oregano tea bag blend during the winter months, especially during the evening. Sipping on the ginger and oregano provides a lovely warming sensation throughout your entire body, while the caffeine-free chamomile florals soothe you to sleep.

Reviews Summary
Customers say: this herbal tea blend offers a unique, savory profile with oregano as a prominent flavor, balanced by ginger, chamomile, and licorice root. Many find it soothing and relaxing, perfect for evening enjoyment, with an earthy, almost medicinal quality that some describe as reminiscent of authentic Greek mountain tea. The oregano flavor divides opinions - while many appreciate its distinctive, warming character and natural sweetness, others find it overpowering or too strong for their taste. Several mention the tea's ability to be both calming and energizing. Common feedback includes concerns about tea bags breaking during use and requests for ingredient variations without chamomile or with just the mountain tea herb alone.

    One great tea!

This is a fantastic tea to sip for relaxation and simple enjoyment. I lived on Crete in the 1980’s and find this tea to be very like the tea I had there.

    Divine

Current obsession. My local grocery stopped carrying, so I’ve shifted to buying online. It lifts when sluggish and calms when amped.

    Strong Herbal Flavor

This tea's very strong, dry, oregano driven flavor may not please some palates, but I love it. The fragrance evokes a field of arid, mountain desert herbs on a hot August afternoon after a thundershower - strong and earthy, but clean and wild. A teaspoon of Maca root powder, mixed in after brewing and straining the tea, pairs well and mellows the flavor considerably.
