About this tea

Dong Fang Hong, "Eastern Beauty Red," is a newer style of tea that combines oolong and red tea processing methods. The tea leaves of Dong Fang Hong are tumbled and shaken in the yaoqing, which is a bamboo cylinder used to mix and bruise the leaves. This encourages the leaves to oxidize and exude multi-faceted flavors of fruits and flowers. This tea has a tropical nectar sensation with a uniquely strong orchid and rose presence coupled with nuances of fermented fruits and fragrant grapes.

Wa Shan Ecological Tea Garden sits in Lincang, on the border with Myanmar (Burma) in southwestern Yunnan. Surrounded by a lush and biodiverse mountainous region, this certified organic tea farm is one we have been working with since 2013. Wa Shan is a famous tea mountain since ancient times named after the Wa ethnic minority who have farmed tea in this region for more than a thousand years.
