Description
This traditional style of shu Pu'er offers an impressively robust infusion that is credited to our unique blend of vintages ranging from 2-4 years in age. One of the first teas to travel beyond its growing region from Yunnan to Tibet and Mongolia, Pu'er teas were typically compressed for ease of trade in exchange for horses and salt in ancient times. Today this compressed form is still used for convenience. Its complex personality is revealed over multiple infusions: smooth while robust, a bit sweet and a bit savory, mellow yet powerful. At about 5 grams per tuo cha, each is designed to brew a single serving size.

WOW!!!!
I've never tried Pu-ur tea before. I'm a Guayusa and Matcha person. I received a sample in my recent
...
shipment and I'm blown away!! So mellow and rich!! AND it's a probiotic!! I drink it black and love it!! I'm sending an order now! Fantastic!

A bit... fishy?
The flavor isn't bad, but the aroma is like opening a can of fish food. I have only tried five-or-so
...
ripe pu-ers, but I have never come across one with this strong odor. Wish I hadn't bought a pound. Sorry if the fish smell is what all the tea connoisseurs look for! I am not into it.

Pu-erh Tuo Cha
This tea is really good. I'm very new to pu-erh teas and the convenience of these little cakes makes
...
it less intimidating than having to carefully pry some off a bigger cake and weigh/measure it. The package recommends steeping for a full 5 minutes but I personally find the taste to be too strong at that point, so I've taken to steeping 2 minutes the first time and then adding about 20 seconds each subsequent time. This tea can be re-steeped several times which greatly increased the bang for your buck factor.

Tuo Cha Mini Cakes
Originally thought ordering the pound would be a 1lb round of pu-erh, instead it was a bag of mini-cakes
...
individually wrapped for an 8oz cup of water. Although originally disappointed, they ended up being super-convenient and saves the hassle of weighing out servings. Can just pop two mini-cakes into a pot, rinse, and steep. I keep the bag in my desk at work, and its my morning ritual.Bold, earthy, and pitch black. I'm no connoisseur, and don't want to pay for something I can't appreciate, but love this stuff.
