there is waaay too much sugar in it. I only sweeten items with coconut water and maybe a little bit of maple syrup if my drink is too bitter, so my palate finds this way too sweet. It does not have a clear taste of cocoa; I was hoping it would be more like a cacao flavored chai, but it's not. Also I like my chai with a very strong spice component, and this is more subdued and does not provide as wide a range of chai spices. However, I would say it's good for evening time for a mellow cup of delicate chai dominated by cinnamon, or anyone looking to avoid higher doses of caffeine (there is probably a negligible amount of caffeine from the cacao nibs, but not nearly the amount which would be in a black tea based chai). The concentrate does not taste overly herbal, it's more like a mild, pleasant, sweet, predominately cinnamon tasting infusion.
