Darjeeling First Flush Tumsong DJ3

Darjeeling First Flush Tumsong DJ3
Lively and elegant with floral notes of orchid and iris, balanced by the signature muscatel sweetness of ripe grapes
About This Tea
Darjeeling is regarded as the “Champagne of Tea” due to its one-of-a-kind terroir. Set high in the Himalayas, each garden and slope section in Darjeeling carries its own signature terroir, fragrance, and flavor characteristics.
Tumsong is one of the top-rated tea estates in all of Darjeeling. The Tumsong Estate was planted in 1867 at the historic site of the Tamsa Devi Temple, on slopes of the Golden Valley that face the highest Himalayan ranges and are met with constant cold winds. The microclimates that exist in this expansive mountainous range cause the teas to grow gradually.
The slow and steady growth of the tea bushes during the spring season’s first flush concentrates and accentuates the remarkable floral and fruity aromas of Darjeeling tea. Tumsong has several garden divisions ranging across the hills and valleys of the estate. Different grades of slopes and fluctuating levels of sun exposure across the Tumsong Estate allow every one of its tea garden divisions to vary from one another, even though they are in close proximity.
The impact of the Golden Valley terroir and its microclimatic range makes the teas from the Tumsong Estate really outstanding and sought after for their signature floral and fruity muscatel notes with elegant and complex tannin structure. The eagerly anticipated first flush harvest in March–April produces teas with vivacious energy and vivid flavors of fruits and flowers that are only found in teas from this amazing tea-producing region in the Himalayas.
