White Peony King, or Bai Mu Dan Wang, is the grand cru of White Peony tea. The spring season’s new growth—one leaf and one bud—from select tea bush cultivars such as Fuding Da Bai or Fuding Da Hao must be harvested during brief periods of sunshine amid the generally foggy coastal air to produce such a stellar tea. The tender leaf and bud plucks exude fresh energy and are covered with silvery-white trichomes, showcasing the classic appearance of downy white tea. This 2023 vintage of White Peony King shows a precious golden infusion with a rich taste and silky, smooth body. The oceanic umami and sweet aftertaste are long lasting with aromas of wildflowers, soft spice and sublime nuance only found in this region’s early spring white tea.
Use 180°F water.
Infuse for 3-4 minutes.
Repeat for another 3+ infusions. Increase the steeping time by 30 seconds with each additional infusion.

WHITE PEONY KING
My regular everyday tea is Silver Needle. I like the regular White Peony also and order it from time
...
to time as a change of pace. I recently tried White Peony King and I was definitely impressed. It brews up a very light green. It's light and fresh and has lots of character and depth of flavor subtle as it is. Really just what one looks for in a white tea.

Light and flavorful
This is a really enjoyable tea. Despite being a very light tea, it has a very distinct note of peach
...
to it. As it is a white tea, and not a green tea, it has none of the vegetal flavor of a green tea, which leaves a very light, fresh taste. I was quite surprised to get such a fine tea at such a reasonable price. A cautionary note; this tea is quite sensitive to changes in brewing time and water temperature.

Mild but flavorful!
I am a big fan of white tea. These leaves are milder that plain White Peony, so I blend the two for a

stellar cup to begin my day!
