At Rishi Tea & Botanicals, we work closely with farmers to procure and share the most unique and interesting Oolong varieties we can find.

How to Brew Loose Leaf Oolong Teas

The Oolong variety is a delicate, slightly oxidized tea, which benefits strongly from a short and slightly gentle brew time. We suggest brewing 1 tablespoon of loose leaf tea (~7 grams) with 12 ounces of 185ºF water for 3 minutes, which will result in a well-brewed, delicate and nuanced tea. These teas also tend to be less astringent or tannic than black teas, due to their more delicate processing.
