Kansui Minamiguchi White Plum Blossoms Bowl
About This Product
The vibrant gold leaf with large white plum blossoms is a special and traditional tea ceremony pattern known as the "leader of a hundred flowers." This tea bowl is precious and considered extraordinary tea art for the tea ceremony.
Minamiguchi Kansui was born in Osaka in 1958 and graduated from the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technical High School in 1978. Minamiguchi Kansui studied under the guidance of the first-generation Miyagawa Kaun and continued to study under the sixteenth-generation Eiraku Zengoro in 1985. Minamiguchi Kansui established an independent kiln in 1989, leading to the revival of Kizuyama-yaki and the engagement in creative activities such as engraving, hand painting and other embellishments for teawares.
