"This is my new favorite black tea...Full bodied and malty, great with oatmilk and some maple syrup!" - Paul W.
Wild Thai Black
Wild Thai Black has energy and heft
with aromatic notes of ripe pit fruits,
Bing cherry, hints of graham cracker
and a tinge of cassia
About this tea
Wild Thai Black is an exciting addition to our collection of single-origin black teas. Hailing from a remote mountainous region in northern Thailand, where the growing conditions are truly wild, this ancient forest tea presents an impressive strength and rich flavor. The complex tannic structure and phenolic density of these old roots tea trees provide a bold body and robust ruby red infusion. With its rich vivacity and robust, malty character, Wild Thai Black offers a far more rustic and adventurous black tea experience than the common (and easily accessed) colonial heritage teas from Assam, Darjeeling, or Ceylon.

Origin
Doi Chiang Dao
Northern Thailand
There are tea growing villages and areas of forest tea all over the Doi Chiang Dao region between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand. Once part of a greater Dai Kingdom that spanned the regions of Burma, Yunnan, and parts of Laos, Northern Thailand is part of a rich history of tea culture that has brought Chinese tea practices and traditions to the area. Home to widespread old growth tea forests, Doi Chiang Dao is an amazing source of oolong, red and Pu’er teas.
