About this tea
This batch of Sheng Pu’er is from Tangyan Town in the Shan State of Burma, near Yunnan. The main plantation is made up of forest grown tea trees between 300-400 years old in addition to the younger offspring trees from the natural heirloom landrace of the old tree seeds. The Shan and Palaung ethnic people that live in this area are related to the first tea farmers in human history and have been farming tea here for centuries. The tea trees are left unpruned and grow naturally. These old root trees accumulate strong Cha Qi power and strength in the tea infusion that is bestowed on the tea drinker. This Sheng Pu’er is strong and issues bitter sweetness and deep roasting in the first few infusions that then gives way to a naturally pure and rustic tea soup in the later brews. Burma has some of the oldest tea growing villages and tea tree types on the planet and this is but one unique rendition.
