Pleasant Gaiwan
This is my first gaiwan and it worked perfectly for me being totally new to gongfu style tea brewing.... The capacity in the description said it holds 150ml but that pushes a bit too far and 100ml of water is more reasonable in terms of actual brewing amount. It was incredibly comfortable to use even with the boiling water for my puerhs. I also purchased the Taihaku Porcelain Teacup set from here as well and the two cups were perfect for the amount brewed in this gaiwan. Love this gaiwan - highly recommend!
I bought this gaiwan a few years back before I was really into brewing in their particular style. Since... then, I've explored my tea palate and found that this little gaiwan is such a fun price of ware to brew with. I love this thing! It's small, and that makes it feel like whatever I'm brewing is even more special, so I sip it more slowly and really relish every flavor. Admittedly, I wasn't to fond at first. Now, I'm absolutely in love!
This is a workhorse gaiwan. It's very functional, and the size is adequate for every style of tea. If... you're a serious tea drinker you may well want a gaiwan in a few sizes. And the 100ml size is probably essential which I think is what the size of this gaiwan is.
Named for its brilliant red infusion, this full-bodied, deeply fermented oolong is slow baked to bring out complex layers of cacao, raisins and black cherry.
