Licorice roots are native to Central Asia and Turkey where the glycerin sweetness levels are the highest. Licorice roots are harvested 4 years after planting in the Autumn at the correct maturity and sweetness level . We select the roots from Turkey and Uzbekistan where the organic soils and local culture have supported the cultivation of licorice for more than 1000 years.
