Description
Origin: Jinggu County, Yunnan Province, China
Cultivar: Changye Bai Hao, Jinggu Da Bai, Xue Ya #100, Da Huang Ya
Harvest: March 25-30, 2021
Elevation: 1,400m
This micro-batch of Silver Needles was grown and produced in China’s Yunnan province. White tea is not traditional to this region and has only been made here in recent decades. Just like Silver Needles from the heritage origin of Fuding, this tea is comprised of pure, individually plucked tea buds harvested during the famous Mingqian period in early spring. The unique cultivars in this blend offer a range of amino acid, polyphenol and aromatic complexities that are not found in the average tea garden. The older roots provide ample nourishment to the plants and yield a complex fruity and nectar-like flavor profile not found in traditional Fuding Silver Needles, which emphasizes a savory, umami taste.
