Only 15kg of this extraordinarily rare micro-lot were produced this year and was harvested from the ancient tea forest in Qianjiazhai village, a region famous for its Pu'er teas. Some of the oldest known tea trees in the world are found in the lush forests of Qianjiazhai, many over one thousand years old. This tea was processed minimally, just like Silver Needles, revealing beautiful aromas of honeydew melon, damask rose, and cucumber water. The precious buds are cloaked in layers of tea leaf. This effect, called yabao or "shielding the bud" occurs in late winter or early spring, especially on elder tea trees. Red pigments can sometimes develop on the leaves of old tea trees as a secondary plant defense mechanism.

Traditional Preparation
Add 4g of tea per 350-400ml (11 - 12oz) of water into a glass teapot, like a Ming Cha Teapot or Simple Brew Use water cooled to 185°F Add water and infuse for 2 minutes. Repeat for another 10+ infusions. Increase the steeping time by 30 seconds with each additional infusion.

A gorgeous tea full of rich flavor that lasts for many infusions. I may have to purchase more before... it is all gone!
This wild white tea is something special. Fragrant and meditative like any good white tea. The taste... and smell of the forest comes through quite noticeably and lends a real unique character to this tea. It has become an instant favorite.
I like white tea a lot, and Rishi's White Peony King and their various Silver Needle teas are the best... available. It's just too bad the price on silver needle tea has gone up so much in just a few short years.
