Origin: Lincang, Yunnan Province, China Cultivar: Xiang Gui Yin Hao Harvest: March 2022 Elevation: 1800m
White Crescent is the name we have selected for this special micro-lot of Silver Needles style tea using the Xiang Gui Yin Hao cultivar. The tea is grown at an organic and biodiverse tea garden in a lush mountainous region of Yunnan’s Lincang Wa Shan territory bordering Burma. Wa Shan is a tea mountain famed since ancient times and named after the Wa ethnic minority group who has farmed tea there for more than a thousand years.
Silver Needles is a venerated style of tea regarded for its delicate appearance and elegant, sweet character. Consisting of pure, individually plucked buds harvested in early spring, the buds are thickly coated in a downy coat of tender trichomes. The savory yet sweet character is due to the highly concentrated amino acids and influx of other nutrients that were stored in the plant’s roots during the cold winter.
The distinctive crescent shape and taste of the buds makes this 2022 selection of single cultivar Xiang Gui Yin Hao White Crescent a premium experience for white tea fanatics.
Traditional Tea Preparation
Add 4-5 g tea to a small gaiwan or teapot made of porcelain or glass. Use water cooled to 180°F. Add water and infuse for 3 minutes. Repeat for another 3+ infusions. Increase the steeping time by 30 seconds with each additional infusion.
